TWO businesswomen are helping people to promote themselves and their businesses on social media with their new platform.

Jade Scotney and Laura Martin, who co-own Rebellion Marketing, have launched a new platform called SocialRebel that helps business owners organise their marketing and social media content.

SocialRebel is part of a partnership between an American social media management company and the Havant firm.

It allows people to manage their professional social media accounts, create graphic content and schedule posts.

It also reports the analytics of social media platforms, as well as suggesting the best content based on the business’s sector and branding.

Jade, from Fareham, and Laura, from Waterlooville, both 33, launched it to help small businesses, which may have suffered due to the pandemic, to be able to access professional marketing tools without spending a lot of money.

Jade said: ‘We’ve been lucky during the pandemic, but a lot of business owners have really suffered and not everyone can afford to spend hundreds on marketing, but it’s not fair that they should miss out because of this.

‘We wanted to do something that would allow everyone to grow their businesses and so that no one would miss out.

‘Selling your business through social media can be really time-consuming and it’s really important at a time like now that people focus most of their energy on helping their clients, so hopefully this will allow them to save time and get leads and make money.’

The pair, who met at school, set up the company just under two years ago after reuniting over a drink.

They now offer a range of marketing services to business owners both nationally and internationally, including social media management, SEO, content writing and web design.

They also recently launched a free online marketing guide, which helps business owners plan their marketing strategy for the next 12 months.

Laura said: ‘We try to do as much as we can at an affordable price or free because we want to help as many people as we can. People are struggling and if one little thing we do can help them then we’ve done our little bit to help.’
