City-owned port joins PSS

MMTD Ltd, a city-owned port specialist, has recently become a full member of Port Skills and Safety (PSS).

The PSS is an organisation that promotes high standards of health and safety within the ports industry. MMTD employs 140 staff and this membership commits the employees to high levels training.

The team will also attend port skills and safety group conferences which are held 3 times a year around the UK.

Port director at Portsmouth International Port and director of MMD Ltd Mike Sellers said: ‘Becoming a full member of Port Skills and Safety is crucial for the future development of MMD Ltd, ensuring the company and its staff practice the highest levels of health and safety.

We will be pleased to share our experiences with others gained over nearly ten years of operation at Portsmouth International Port.’
