A CITY housebuilder has announced the charity it will be pledging its support to over the next year – kicking off with a £15,000 donation.
McCarthy and Stone’s team in Portsmouth has given the cash to Coram Beanstalk and will run a number of additional fundraising events over the next 12 months.
The cause recruits and trains volunteers to deliver consistent, one-to-one reading support to children between the ages of three and 13, in order to improve ability and confidence.
The charity’s patron is Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall – a strong advocate for children’s literacy.
