Crazy winter weather

It may feel like winter outside now...

but in the past year or two it seems we have not had an autumn.

A late summer has merged into winter soon after Halloween (indeed the last two All Saints’ days have been the warmest on record).

This year however it seems even winter has deserted us, with some newspapers describing December’s weather as spring-like.

Although there have been storms and floods elsewhere, here in the garden in early January the daffodils are in bloom and we have seen bees and even butterflies searching for nectar.

On the downside the lawn at home is growing but is too wet to cut and there have been no hard frosts to control the aphids or other nasty bugs.
