Arrests as fans clash after Pompey defeat
Police horses from Thames Valley Police had to wade in during the scuffle in Goldsmith Avenue at its junction with Talbot Road, Southsea.
It comes after the Blues were defeated 3-0 by Newport County at Fratton Park.

Hide AdThree Pompey fans were arrested along with one Newport County fan during the day.
Two of those arrests were made during the public order incident in Goldsmith Avenue after the match, police have said.
Sgt Rob Sutton, of Portsmouth police, said: ‘A handful of supporters from both sides came to blows at Goldsmith Avenue at its junction with Talbot Road, after what was a rather well-mannered game between fans.’
‘Arrests were for drunk and disorderly, a racial incident and breaching a dispersal order.
‘No injuries were sustained.’

Hide AdHe added: ‘Good work by Hampshire and Gwent Police intelligence officers meant we were able to identify potential incidents and stop them from happening.
‘The stewards did a great job with the fans too, engagement as well as identifying troublemakers.’
The match had been classified as a potential risk game due to previous encounters.
