FAREHAM police gave themselves a pat on the back after five men were detained for searches after they were suspected over drugs offences – with one male caught possessing a knife.

Officers carrying out their neighbourhood rounds stumbled across the gang in Longfield Avenue today.

After the ‘great proactive stop check’ police arrested one man for outstanding matters in London and also possessing a knife.

Fareham police posted on Twitter: ‘Five males from out of area detained for searches as believed to be involved in drug offences. One male arrested for outstanding matters in London and also possessing a knife.’
