And Hampshire Police Federation is putting its full support behind the Medals for Heroes campaign. Chair ZoeWakefield said: ‘I’ve had the honour of having several chats with Bryn Hughes about this and he’s an amazing man who’s making a real difference for, not just Nicola and Fiona, but for so many other officers. [Thames Valley Police officer] Andrew Harper, for one, who’s obviously local to us.
‘It’s amazing we haven’t had it before, because the military have all sorts of medals. We’ve never had this. So we are fully supportive.’
