Photo released by Portsmouth police after corner shop is burgled

A PAIR of burglars have been caught red-handed on CCTV after breaking into a corner shop earlier this week.

Portsmouth police officers have released a photo of a break-in at the Co-op in New Road, Fratton, which took place just after 10am on Tuesday, March 24.

The photos show one person in a blue jacket with a grey Adidas bag, and another wearing a black jacket.

Both people were wearing blue gloves during the break-in.

Putting the images up on Facebook, Portsmouth Police said: ‘The blue jacket and grey Adidas bag is a fairly distinctive combo.

‘If anyone can help with identifying these people please contact us and quote reference 44200109730.

‘Meanwhile the neighbourhood and response teams will be continuing with patrols focused on reassuring both our business community and members of the public.’

Any emergency incidents should be reported to the police on 999.
