Police launch hunt for prison escapee who has links to Hampshire

POLICE have launched a search for a man who absconded a West Sussex prison, and there are suspicions he could be in Hampshire.

Officers in Sussex said Brian Chapman, 39, left HMP Ford, near Arundel and Littlehampton, on Wednesday January 29.

They said he might have left the area by train and has links to Hampshire, Avon and Somerset.

Ford, the nearest railway station, is a mile north of the prison via Ford Road.

Police have urged people not to approach Brian, but to contact Sussex Police immediately.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can report it online or call 101, quoting the serial number 372 of 29/01.
