A WOMAN charged with failing to provide a breathalyser test after a car hit a lamppost outside a student hall in Portsmouth failed to turn up for a court appearance.

A warrant without bail was issued for Louise Hounsell, of Britain Street, Portsmouth, after her non-show before city magistrates on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old was charged with failing to provide a specimen to police following the incident in Stanhope Road on February 18.

Hounsell was previously bailed to appear at court.

But during the brief appearance at court, district judge Anthony Callaway issued a warrant without bail.
