WATCH: RNLI headcam footage shows mudflats rescue
They waded out in thick mud when a two men, a mother and her daughter were left stranded on mudflats in Langstone Harbour after being caught out by a receding tide.
Pete Slidel, who wore the headcam and was accompanied by fellow RNLI volunteer Neal Chadwick, can be heard labouring for breath as the duo plough through the deep sticky mud.

Hide AdRNLI spokesman Aaron Gent said: 'Hopefully the video conveys the distance they had to travel to get to the casualties and the effort required to haul the home.'We would urge anyone planning a trip to check local weather and tidal information before going afloat, as the water can recede very quickly over the mudflats leaving people stranded until the next rising tide.'
