It was the announcement that Pompey fans were waiting for all day.

And it indeed proved to be good news.

Both Christian Burgess and Sean Raggett have been confirmed they’ll be able to feature in the League One play-offs after a whirlwind of a day.

Burgess has agreed to join Royale Union Saint-Gilloise this summer and there was uncertainty the Belgian side would allow him to play.

Raggett, meanwhile, is out of contract at Norwich at the end of the season, having moved to Fratton Park on loan last summer.

However, the duo have been given the green light to feature for Kenny Jackett’s men against Oxford United next week.

And they’ve been quick to react to the news on Twitter.

Burgess channelled his inner Leonardo Di Caprio, tweeting a gif ‘The Show Must Go On’ from film The Wolf Of Wolf Street.

Raggett responded to the news by writing ‘Let’s go’ followed by two emojis.

Pompey have also confirmed that Lee Brown, Brett Pitman, Oli Hawkins, Brandon Haunstrup, Adam May and Matt Casey have penned short-term deals so they’re available for the play-offs.

However, Luke McGee turned down an extension and will depart the club, while youngster Bradley Lethbridge’s release has been confirmed.
