Pompey’s first game of the 2020-21 season at Stevenage on Saturday will take place behind closed doors.

However, that doesn't mean fans can’t still get their live Blues fix this weekend.

While no supporters are allowed in the Lamex Stadium for the Carabao Cup first-round clash, members of the Fratton faithful can head to AFC Portchester where a Pompey XI will be in action (3pm kick-off).

Fans certainly relished the chance to watch a young Blues side at AFC Totton on Tuesday.

All 100 tickets were sold, with the likes of Jack Whatmough and Ben Close featuring in the 2-2 draw at the Snows Stadium.

Another team mainly made up of fledgling talents will now step up their pre-season preparations against the Royals at the Crest Finance Stadium.

Supporters can get a glimpse of prospects such as Harvey Rew and Alfie Stanley – who struck to penalties at Totton – while triallist Mason Jones-Thomas may also feature.

Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for under-18s.

However, Covid-19 restrictions means that only 150 people can attend the clash on a first come, first serve basis.

You can secure your place in advance by emailing Portchester chairman Paul Kelly at [email protected].
