Emsworth A remain top of the Portsmouth Winter Snooker League as they defeated Craneswater A 8-4.

Nick Fegan (35 break), Tommy O’Neill and Bobby Terry all won for the leaders, with Rob Kirby replying.

Greg Jones made a superb 61 break as Bellair A defeated visiting Copnor A & E 9-3. Jones still had to settle for a draw as Steve Toms, with a 38 break, levelled their encounter.

Dan Lumsden, Paul Jagger (38 break) and Simon Tulley all won their games as Bellair took control. Copnor’s Mark Tillison made a 55 break in his drawn match.

Cowplain Z won 8-4 at Craneswater Q thanks to wins from Russ Linkhorn, Dave Rees and Steve Hughes. Jamie Gray replied.

Waterlooville A triumphed 8-4 at Portchester X with Dan Wells and Daniel Harvest claiming crucial wins for Ville - all the other matches were drawn.

In Division 2, Bellair X won 7-5 at Craneswater R with wins for Archie Archer, Steve Scott and Karl Smith. Mark Richardson and James Sorrell won the last two games, but it was too late for the hosts.

Copnor D suffered an 8-4 home defeat to Waterlooville Bananas. A Steve Green brace helped Copnor into a 3-0 lead, but it was Bananas after that with Wayne Rendle, Dan Lee and Steve Ball all victorious.

Emsworth B triumphed 7-5 at Waterlooville Xcels, Chester Bailey and Jim Baldwin taking the last four frames. Xcels’ Sam Laxton had continued his good form with a brace.

There was no separating Cowplain B and Copnor E as they fought out a 6-6 draw.

Leah Humphrey and Adam Osbourne won four frames for Copnor, with Gary Curtis and Pete Gorvin replying.

Cowplain Misfits won 9-3 at Copnor Zee with wins for Russell Bevan, Ray Axton and Vinny Baker.

Pompey Royals claimed a 7-5 victory over North End Bowls Club with braces from Tommy Wainwright, Ian Walter and Chad Wainwright. Mike Dorey and Adrian Pledge replied.

Doubles for Gerry Wheeler, Andy White, Simon Cornwell and Lance Cornwell gave Broadoak an 8-4 win against clubmates Broadoak Dandy’s. Kelvin Connor and Brian Elsegood replied.

Cowplain Gas and Alexandra Bowls Club couldn’t be split in their 6-6 draw. Neil Kirby (42 break) and Gary Swatton won for the Gas, with Matt Sheath (50 break) and Darren Paffett replying.
