Now the family are hosting a music night, with bands including The Shadders, The Superheroes and The Storms playing, to raise money for the Rowans Hospice and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.Â
Daughter Amy Thompson said: '˜Music was obviously a huge part of dad's life, and that certainly had a big influence on the rest of the family.
'˜He was a lovely, kind-hearted man and cared so much for the other people in the band, regardless of any changes in line-up.'
The event is on Friday, November 16 at Leigh Park Working Men's Club.
Tickets are £10 and available from Mick King on (023) 9226 7108 or John Gray on 07771 362892.
